Music Audition Requirements for Summer Programs (Grades 3-6)
Advanced Piano
Prepare and record two works that represent your overall ability. Submit these as two video audition files containing one work each. Works must be memorized. Examples of the appropriate level of solo repertoire include but are not limited to:
- Bach: 2-part Inventions
- Beethoven: Sonata, Op. 49
- Mozart: Sonata, K. 545
Advanced Strings
Prepare and record two works that represent your overall ability. Submit these as two video audition files containing one work each. Examples for each instrument are listed below, but you are not limited to these choices. Piano accompaniment is preferred, but not required.
- Violin: Concerti by Bach, Mendelssohn, Mozart
- Viola: Concerti by Telemann, CPE Bach, or movements from the Bach Cello Suites
- Cello: Concerti by Golterman, Haydn, or movements from the Bach Cello Suites
