Why Take Classical Guitar Intensive
Move beyond playing notes—start playing music. Take your abilities to the next level with the High School Classical Guitar Intensive. During this week, you will explore new techniques to help your playing excel. Collaborate with other young musicians and develop your talent alongside our world-class faculty.
What You'll Learn
This one-week guitar camp intensive gathers motivated young guitarists and prestigious faculty for a week of concentrated study. The curriculum includes:
- Technique workshops
- Master classes
- Private lessons
- Fretboard harmony courses
- Topics seminars including college auditions, competition prep, and nail care
Students will be selected to perform solos and chamber music on a culminating student recital which also features a world premiere of a new work for guitar ensemble.

They will help guide you as you develop your skills as an artist and musician while providing valuable real-world context to lessons, rehearsals, and performance.

The Music Center
Our state-of-the-art 60,000 square-foot music facility has two 3,500 square-foot rehearsal halls, two recording studios—which allow for rehearsal and performance recordings in multiple venues on campus—multiple ensemble and practice rooms, and individual faculty teaching studios. We have many additional camp program opportunities for young guitarists, including: High School Jazz Performance & Improvisation Program, High School Rock/Pop Performance Program, and High School Singer-Songwriter Program.
