Accessibility

At Interlochen Center for the Arts, we strive to make our campus accessible for all students, employees, volunteers, and guests. We continue to improve and update our facilities for accessibility.

Please share your questions with us or let us know about specific accessibility needs at boxoffice@interlochen.org or by calling 800.681.5920.

Designated accessible parking is available in campus parking lots near venues on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see our Venues & Campus Map page for more information.

Kresge Auditorium Drop-Off Area

Guests who require a shorter path to the venue may be dropped off at the yellow poles directly across from the Main Entrance to our campus.

Courtesy wheelchairs are available upon request and may be used to transport guests from the drop-off area to your seat. Locate an usher for assistance.

Corson Auditorium Drop-Off Areas

Guests who require a shorter path to the venue may be dropped off at the designated pull-off area in front of Corson Auditorium.

Courtesy wheelchairs are available upon request and may be used to transport guests from the drop-off area to your seat. Locate an usher for assistance.

Barrier-free access for patrons with physical or other disabilities include restroom facilities and designated seating. You may purchase up to three (3) companion seats to accompany each guest in a barrier-free location. Any additional seats must be purchased in the regular seating areas. This policy ensures that we are able to accommodate more patrons in need of these features. Tickets may be purchased online, in person, and by phone.  All tickets are subject to availability.

Please note:

  • The Wheelchair accessible seating and Row G in Corson Auditorium are the only seating areas which do not have any stairs to traverse.
  • Row M in Upton-Morley Pavilion does not have stairs.
  • The designated barrier-free seats in Harvey Theatre are the only seats without stairs. This venue requires one step up to the front row seats.

All other venues than those listed above are general admission and can accommodate those with mobility impairments.

Corson Auditorium, Kresge Auditorium, Dendrinos Chapel, Harvey Theatre, Upton-Morley Pavilion, and the Writing House are equipped with an induction loop system. Patrons simply flip a switch on their T-coil-equipped hearing aid, and the sound is transmitted directly into their ears. If your hearing aid is not equipped with a T-coil, please see an usher for a receiver box.

Support for recent upgrades to these systems provided by Michigan Arts and Culture Council; the NEA; Rotary Charities of Traverse City; the Les and Anne Biederman Foundation, Inc.; the Oleson Foundation; and Robert W. Anderson.

Sign language interpretation may be arranged by emailing the Box Office at boxoffice@interlochen.org or by calling 800.681.5920. A minimum of 4 weeks advance notice is required.

Service animals as defined by the American with Disabilities Act are permitted into the theaters and must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. A service animal must sit under the guest’s seat or at his/her feet and is not permitted to sit in the aisle or on seats. Emotional support animals are not allowed inside the venues.
