Interlochen Online launches new courses, certificate programs ahead of fall 2025 sessions
Learn the basics of hybrid writing, explore jazz improvisation, experiment with beatmaking, and more with engaging, expert-led offerings.
This fall, Interlochen Online will expand their world-class educational programming with new courses and certificate programs in music, theatre, creative writing, and film. Inaugural sessions of five new courses will begin Sept. 15, 2025; the remaining five courses will launch Oct. 27, 2025.
“Our new fall courses and certificate programs respond to a lot of requests we've received from students and focus on ways to help you better understand music, strengthen your musicianship skills, and express yourself creatively on your instrument—whether you're learning the iconic ‘Clair de Lune,’ how to solo over the blues, or how to create great-sounding instrumental tracks,” said Carin Nuernberg, executive director of Interlochen Online. “In addition to music, we wanted students to have the chance to deepen their visual storytelling skills by earning certificates in theatrical set design and video production, and be able to experiment with hybrid writing forms that connect visuals, prose, and poetry in meaningful ways.”
Ten offerings will join Interlochen Online’s robust catalog of four-week courses this fall. Each course is designed and taught by an expert instructor. Faculty for the recently added courses include Emmy Award-winning composer, songwriter, and producer Jonathan Perkins; Concordia University Chicago Director of the Preparatory and Community Music Program Dr. Jeff Kleinsorge; Interlochen Director of Jazz Chris Glassman; and writer, musician, and Belmont University faculty member AM Ringwalt.
