Introduction to Digital Photography

This four-week course is designed to teach you photography through the camera on your phone. You'll gain a deeper understanding of your device’s camera settings, how to manipulate light—both natural and artificial, and explore compositional strategies that transform simple snapshots into visually striking photographs. You’ll also develop essential editing skills, from basic toning and color correction to more stylized adjustments, using the built-in tools on your device.

Throughout the course, you’ll engage in hands-on practice through guided photo exercises and thematic projects. You’ll experiment with interior and exterior spaces, explore unusual perspectives, and learn to identify strong focal points in both natural landscapes and urban environments. Each week, you’ll refine your ability to compose, shoot, and edit photos with purpose, culminating in an independent project that showcases your personal style and creative growth. Whether you're interested in still life, abstract compositions, or expressive portraits, this course will provide you with the tools and techniques to bring your vision to life.

By the end of the course, you’ll not only understand the technical and compositional elements that make a photograph “good,” but you’ll also be able to confidently apply these skills to create images that are both visually engaging and uniquely your own.
