Violin Methods 2

Designed for violinists of all levels, this four-week course focuses on strengthening foundational skills and is ideal if you're looking to refine your techniques, explore more complex musical concepts, and enhance your overall musical expression.

You’ll begin with work to master the bow, focusing on controlling dynamics through advanced techniques in bow speed, position, weight, and contact point. You’ll then work on rhythm, emphasizing more complex rhythms like syncopation and off-beat patterns to improve rhythmic accuracy.

The course will work on expanding your scale, arpeggio, and interval knowledge, focusing on G and A major scales and the B minor scale across two octaves. = The course will also delve into intonation with custom exercises designed to improve your hearing and listening skills.

To practice and apply all of these techniques, you’ll work with a variety of repertoire from classical to jazz standards. By the end of this course, you'll not only refine your technical skills but also develop a deeper sense of musicality and performance.

What you will learn:

✔ Improve bow speed, weight, and contact point to produce controlled tone and dynamics across various sections of the bow
✔ Accurately identify and execute a range of dynamics while playing
✔ Strengthen rhythmic accuracy and confidence to execute complex rhythmic patterns, focusing on syncopations, off-beat entrances, and rests
✔ Play major and minor scales, along with two-octave finger patterns, with improved technical execution
