Acting for TV and Film


Learn the ins and outs of acting for TV and film from a seasoned actor, director, and acting coach, giving you the skills you need to land on set prepared and professional.

The course begins by delving into the heart of on-set dynamics, teaching you industry-standard terms and the roles of various crew members you’ll work alongside. You’ll learn the nuances of acting for multicams versus single cams, in addition to the distinct demands and challenges of acting on soap operas and sitcoms versus film and voiceover work. You’ll get the chance to work with scripts from real TV shows and films to get you comfortable with acting for smaller and bigger screens.

From pacing and memorization in soap operas to the dynamic shooting schedules of single-camera dramas, you'll develop a versatile skill set that prepares you for any on-screen endeavor. With practical exercises, expert guidance, and real-world insights from surprise industry guests, you'll emerge ready to captivate audiences with your on-screen presence, whether in a sitcom, drama, or feature film.

Upon completion of the program, you will receive a physical certificate and a shareable digital certificate. Certificates for students under 18 are accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS); high school-age students will also receive an official transcript to share with their current school for consideration for high school credit.
