Film & New Media Portfolio Requirements for Summer Programs (High School Students)

High School Filmmaking

PDF file: One- to two-page (double-spaced) personal essay detailing your interest in filmmaking and what inspired your application to Interlochen.

AND ONE of the following items:

  • PDF file: Three- to five-page sample screenplay
    • OR
  • PDF file: Five pages of short fiction (double-spaced)
    • OR
  • Image files: 10 photo stills
    • OR
  • Video file: Short video/film or animation. If a collaborative work, please also describe your role in the production.

Any written materials should be typed and proofread with a standard 12-point font.

High School Animation

PDF file: One- to two-page (double-spaced) personal essay detailing your interest in animation and what inspired your application to Interlochen.

AND ONE of the following:

  • PDF file: Three- to five-page sample screenplay
    • OR
  • PDF file: Five pages of short fiction (double-spaced)
    • OR
  • Image files: Five still images of visual arts (drawings, paintings, sculptures, etc.)
    • OR
  • Video file: short video/film or animation. If a collaborative work, please also describe your role in the production.
