Renowned violin soloist Rachel Barton Pine will perform with the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra under the direction of conductor Dr. Leslie B. Dunner at Corson Auditorium.
Pine will join the orchestra as the soloist for Violin Concerto No. 2 by Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist and composer Billy Childs. The concerto, which was written for Pine, was co-commissioned by Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Grant Park Music Festival, the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra. The work made its world premiere on Feb. 12, 2022 with the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. The program will also include Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky (arr. Ravel).
