Violinist Diane Monroe joins the Interlochen Arts Academy Jazz Orchestra and Chamber Strings for an exciting multi-genre performance. Hailed by the Staten Island Advance as “a musician who knows no borders, no limits,” Monroe is equally accomplished as a jazz and classical performer. The winner of the 1983 Pro Musicis Recital Award, Monroe has given solo recitals at venues across the United States and held first violin positions with the Uptown String Quartet, Max Roach Double Quartet, and Pennsylvania Ballet Orchestra, among others. Monroe has also performed alongside classical and jazz luminaries such as Anthony Davis, Regina Carter, and Reggie Workman. As a composer, her compositions and arrangements have been highlighted in TV shows, films, recordings, and performances, including the 2019 drama A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. Don’t miss your chance to see this legendary artist side-by-side with some of the world’s finest up-and-coming musicians.
