Join the Film and New Media Division in the DeRoy Center for Film Studies for an evening of international animation. This is a unique showing of animation available only for this screening. See films from Australia, China, Iran, India and the United States in celebration of International Animation Day. The showing is rated PG-13 and may require trigger warnings. Some films have English subtitles available. Association Internationale du Film d’Animation (ASIFA) created International Animation Day (IAD) in 2002, honoring the birth of animation, recognized as the first public performance of projected moving images: Emile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique in Paris, on the 28th October 1892.
