Experience an evening of exceptional chamber music as Interlochen Arts Academy faculty artists Hyemin Kim, piano, Jeanmarie Riccobono, clarinet, and Evelyn Elsing, cello, unite for a captivating Clarinet Trio recital. Showcasing the expressive range and rich blend of these three instruments, the program features L.v. Beethoven’s Trio for Piano, Clarinet and Cello in B-flat Major, Op. 11 “Gassenhauer”, selections from Max Bruch’s Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Cello and Piano, Op. 83, and Johannes Brahms’ Trio for Piano, Clarinet and Cello in A minor, Op. 114. Together, these works move seamlessly between lyrical beauty, spirited conversation, and virtuosic brilliance.
From intimate musical dialogue to moments of sweeping emotion, this performance highlights the artistry and collaboration at the heart of chamber music. With guest artists Jeanmarie Riccobono, co-principal clarinetist of the Traverse City Philharmonic and adjunct clarinet instructor at Northwestern Michigan College, and Evelyn Elsing, professor emeritus of cello at the University of Maryland, College Park, joining pianist Hyemin Kim, this recital offers a rewarding opportunity to experience outstanding performances by accomplished musicians.
