Experience the bold brilliance and rhythmic energy of two of the orchestra’s most commanding sections as Interlochen Arts Academy’s Percussion Ensemble and Brass Choirs take the stage.

The evening features an exhilarating range of classical and contemporary works that showcase the power, precision, and artistry of these dynamic ensembles. Highlights include Emmanuel Séjourné’s Sosso-Balla, a groove-infused celebration of rhythm and texture that brings the marimba to life through air, touch, and motion; Evan Chapman’s Second Thoughts, an introspective exploration of pulse and space; and Florence Anna Maunders’ Tree Songs, a vibrant tapestry of sound inspired by nature’s quiet majesty.

The Brass Choirs will also perform Verne Reynolds’ Theme and Variations, Rika Ishige’s Claps Gold, and Brian Balmages’ Symphony for Brass—a thrilling display of the ensemble’s tonal richness, precision, and expressive range.

From shimmering brass harmonies to the hypnotic resonance of percussion, this performance promises a night of sonic brilliance and boundless creativity.
