About Elizabeth

Flutist and composer Elizabeth Goode was Professor of Music at Valdosta State University.  An ASCAP Plus award winner, her recent compositions include: “Kokopelmana” for two  flutes, premiered at the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention in February 2020; “blaze” for  symphony orchestra (performed as the 2018 season opener for the Valdosta Symphony  Orchestra); “Rongbuk” for bassoon and piano, performed at the IDRS conference and the  Meg Quigley Bassoon Symposium; “King’s Cross,” for flute and string orchestra, which was  premiered in Spring 2018 with the Albany Symphony Orchestra; and “blue ridge: summer”  for flute choir, premiered at the Smoky Mountain Flute Festival. She performs as Principal  Flutist with the Valdosta and the Albany Symphony Orchestras and is an active orchestral  player around the southeast. In the summer of 2018, she joined the faculty of the  Interlochen Center for the Arts Adult Chamber Music Camp and previously was on the  artist faculty of the Orfeo International Music Festival in Vipiteno, Italy. She holds Bachelor  and Master of Music degrees from the University of Tennessee, and the Master of Music,  Master of Musical Arts, and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from Yale University.
