Harp Summer Program for Grades 6-9


Why Take Harp

Playing the harp is an exciting, impressive combination of mind and finger strength, lots of dexterity, and a love of its ringing nature. During this program, you will develop your skills alongside other outstanding young musicians. Our harp students spend their days in a collaborative, focused, and inspiring setting.

What You'll Learn

Our harp program is an exciting and dynamic course of study. Students have a variety of opportunities to practice, collaborate, and perform. Our curriculum includes:

  • Harp ensemble–a daily one-hour chamber music class 
  • Studio classes
  • Practice methods
  • Master classes
  • Intermediate Symphony Orchestra
  • Intermediate Wind Symphony 
  • Private lessons

You are welcome to attend both summer sessions.

Program Highlights

Performance Opportunities

While at Interlochen, you will have multiple opportunities to perform both solo repertoire and as a part of larger ensembles. Each large ensemble performs two concerts per session. Students also perform for each other within studio classes. 

Distinguished Faculty

Our faculty are composers and instructors who teach at both Interlochen and at other institutions around the globe. Our instructors are professional artists who are active participants in the music world. They are thoughtful, supportive, and eager to help you as you develop your career.

The Music Center

Our state-of-the-art 60,000 square-foot music facility has two 3,500 square-foot rehearsal halls, two recording studios—which allow for rehearsal and performance recordings in multiple venues on campus—multiple ensemble and practice rooms, and individual faculty teaching studios. Learn more about The Music Center.
