Marilyn Mueller (IAC/NMC 52, 54; UNIV 55, 58) of Boerne, Texas, passed away on Jan. 22, 2025.

Jo Ann Derby (IAC/NMC 54-55, UNIV 56-57) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on Dec. 26, 2025.

J. Ross Jameson (IAC/NMC 55-57) of Wooster, Ohio, passed away on April 5, 2024.

Laird Marshall (UNIV 56) of Middleton, Wisconsin, passed away on April 2, 2025.

Emily Remine Boyd (IAC/NMC St 57, 59, 61-68, 95-07, 09-16) of Interlochen, Michigan, and State College, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 12, 2025. Emily was director of Intermediate Girls in the 1960s and later served as host of the Minnesota Building, a lakeside gathering place for faculty, staff, parents, children, and visitors. Emily's late husband, Bill Boyd (IAC/NMC St 57, 61-07), was on the Camp Life staff for more than 30 years. The Boyds' children, Stephen Boyd (IAC/NMC 77-87; IAC/NMC St 88-91, 07), Katherine Boyd (IAC/NMC 79-89, IAC/NMC Fac 98-01), and Anne Boyd Rabkin (IAC/NMC 83-93, IAC St 93-95), all attended Interlochen. A celebration of life was held in Interlochen this summer. Jerry Seals (AS 60) of Niles, Michigan, passed away on Feb. 9, 2025.

Peggy Pascal (IAC/NMC 60-61, 63-64, 66; UNIV 69; IAC St 74-75; IAC Fac 92-98, 03) of Winnetka, Illinois, passed away on June 3, 2024. In 1960, at age seven, Peggy was among the youngest students ever to attend the National Music Camp. Her connection to Interlochen continued into adulthood. In her ten years as a staff member, teacher, and chair of the class piano program, Peggy interacted with thousands of students, alumni, and staff. Roland Neumann (IAC/NMC 64, 66) of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on July 11, 2025.

Allan Janus (IAC/NMC 66-67, IAA 67-69) of Washington Grove, Maryland, passed away on Jan. 6, 2025.

Charles Heard (IAC St 66, IAC Fac 67-72) of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on May 25, 2025.

Betty Luebke (IAC St 67-68) of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away on Feb. 28, 2025.

Stenford Johansen (IAC/NMC 67, IAA 68-70) of Savoy, Illinois, passed away on June 30, 2025.

James Carter Cathcart (IAA 68-71) passed away on July 8, 2025. A gifted pianist, Cathcart was a Concerto Competition winner and 1971 Young Artist Award recipient during his time at Interlochen Arts Academy. In his professional career, he toured with Dave Brubeck’s “Two Generations of Brubeck”, was a founding member of rock/punk band The Laughing Dogs, and composed numerous arrangements, original songs, and jingles—including the original theme song for Hello Kitty. Through his work as a session musician, Cathcart was introduced to voice acting. He is widely known for voicing Gary Oak, Professor Oak, James, and Meowth in the Pokémon franchise. He is survived by his wife, Martha S. Jacobi (IAC/NMC 64-70, IAA 71-73), daughter of former Interlochen President Roger Jacobi. Gifts in his memory may be made to the James Carter Cathcart and Martha S. Jacobi Scholarship Fund.

Rev. Dr. David Gregg (AS 83, IAC St 87-94, IAA St 88-90) of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on June 26, 2025.
