The Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay presents a special screening of Grounded, a documentary created in partnership with Interlochen Center for the Arts as part of The Bay’s Made in Michigan series.

Co-directed by Nathan Buck and Claire Hannah Collins, Grounded follows a group of Interlochen Arts Academy students tasked with making a film about “regenerative farming.” What begins as a school project becomes an unexpected journey into agro-ecology, Indigenous growing traditions, and the complicated realities of where our food comes from.

As the students dig deeper, they begin questioning their own dining hall’s food sourcing and what it means to live more sustainably and stay connected to the land. The film features production support from dozens of Interlochen students, local farmers, and artists.

The screening will be followed by an audience Q&A with members of the filmmaking team.
