Aimee Nezhukumatathil is the author of the poetry collection Night Owl, the food essay collection Bite By Bite: Nourishments and Jamborees, and the New York Times bestselling illustrated nature essay collection World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks & Other Astonishments. She is also the author of four previous poetry collections, including Oceanic and At the Drive-In Volcano. Her most recent chapbook, Lace & Pyrite, is a collaboration of epistolary garden poems with poet Ross Gay.

Her honors include a poetry fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pushcart Prize, a Mississippi Arts Council grant, NAAEE’s 2024 Pepe Marcos-Iga Award for Innovation in Environmental Education, and a Guggenheim Fellowship in poetry.

For a decade, Nezhukumatathil served as poetry editor for Orion and Sierra magazines. A professor of English and Creative Writing for more than twenty-five years, she also works as a firefly guide for Mississippi State Parks. She will present a reading, Q&A, and book signing.
