Celebrate one of Interlochen Arts Camp’s most cherished traditions with the 99th annual performance of Les Préludes, conducted by Steven D. Davis. For nearly a century, this moving end-of-summer ritual has marked the close of the Camp season with artistry, pride, and unforgettable emotion.

The World Youth Wind Symphony will open the performance with an excerpt from Erika Svanoe’s Adventures in Wonderland, a whimsical musical exploration of Lewis Carroll’s timeless children’s novel. Benjamin Horne’s Spiritual Symphony offers an impassioned collage of familiar spiritual melodies, and Edwin Franco Goldman’s Interlochen Bowl March closes the first half by honoring the legacy and traditions of Interlochen.

Musicians of the World Youth Wind Symphony will then be joined by their colleagues in the Interlochen Philharmonic and the Interlochen Summer Dance Ensemble for the annual summer camp finale, Franz Liszt’s Les Préludes. The program will be conducted by Steven D. Davis, Director of Wind Ensembles at Interlochen Arts Camp and the Rose Ann Carr Millsap Missouri Distinguished Professor of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory.

Tune in to Classical IPR at 7 p.m. for interviews and insights into the evening's repertoire, then enjoy the full performance broadcast live.
