Songwriting Retreat

Why Attend the Songwriting Retreat

Develop your songwriting skills in a supportive, inspiring environment at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Open to all levels, the Songwriting Retreat will feature instruction from Interlochen's world-class faculty and a surprise guest artist.

You'll explore various song forms, opening up new ways of structuring your songs according to style and mood. You'll dive into lyric writing and how to find your own unique voice and use different points of view to heighten the emotional impact of your songs. You'll also draw inspiration from your life experience and learn strategies for developing a consistent songwriting practice.

Throughout the workshop, you'll work on your own songs, pair with others to co-write songs, and get coaching and feedback from your instructors and peers. You'll also have the opportunity to perform in an open mic night at a beautiful venue on campus. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced songwriter, this workshop will help you take your songwriting to the next level. Limited space available.
