Chapman Stick Retreat

Take your Chapman Stick playing further while learning alongside a community of players who share your passion for this one-of-a-kind instrument.

In this four-day workshop, master Chapman Stick performers and teachers will work with players at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels through hands-on instruction and collaborative sessions. You’ll explore:

• Fretboard harmony and chords
• Bass lines
• Solo and accompaniment techniques
• Hand coordination
• Reading
• Arranging
• Performing in odd meters

Throughout the workshop, you’ll have opportunities to learn from experienced players, experiment with new techniques, and put your skills into practice. The program includes a faculty performance and culminates in a side-by-side performance with fellow participants during the closing session.
