Renée Fleming - Voice of Nature: The Anthropocene

Imagined as a deep exchange between some of the world’s leading artists and the students of Interlochen Arts Camp, the Distinguished Artist Series returns with a performance and residency by Grammy Award-winning soprano Renée Fleming. Renowned as one of the most acclaimed singers of our time,  Fleming will stage a performance of her acclaimed concert program Voice of Nature: The Anthropocene with students from the Camp’s World Youth Symphony Orchestra and Interlochen Philharmonic. Memphis Symphony Orchestra Music Director Robert Moody will conduct.

Fleming is a leading advocate for the intersection of music, health, and neuroscience. Her many accolades include the U.S. Medal of the Arts; a Fulbright Lifetime Achievement Medal; and France’s Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur.

A component of Interlochen’s centennial celebration, the Shirley Young Distinguished Artist Series brings some of the world’s leading artists to Interlochen Arts Camp to work with students and present public performances. Net proceeds from this performance will be directed into the Shirley Young Distinguished Artist Series Endowment, creating a self-sustaining fund that will enable Interlochen to bring artists of this caliber to our community for generations to come.
