The Greenleaf Collection

The Greenleaf Collection of Musical Instruments at Interlochen Center for the Arts

From saxhorns to saxophones to sousaphones, the Greenleaf Collection celebrates the pursuit of musical ideas through time.

The collection reflects a vision that shaped music education in America, through the collaboration of four foundational figures: Joseph Maddy and T.P. Giddings of Interlochen, pioneering musical pedagogues, and Carl Greenleaf and Leland Greenleaf of C.G. Conn, Ltd., leaders in manufacturing musical instruments. Their shared ambition was to bring music into every young life and, through that universal language, to unite the world in harmony.

See for yourself.

Today, this treasury is enriching visitors with instruments of imagination and distinction, including rare designs, prototypes, and lavishly rendered musical pieces of art. It is a priceless opportunity to explore the past and imagine the future.
