Visual Arts Portfolio Requirements for Summer Programs (Grades 6-8)

Advanced Drawing & Painting

Prepare a minimum of five images that represent your highest quality of work. Three pieces must be made from direct observation (drawn or painted from life, not copied from a photograph). The portfolio may be in any medium, but evidence of some color experience is preferred (paint, colored pencil, pastel, etc.)

Fashion

Applicants should prepare a minimum of five images that represent their highest quality of work. Two pieces must be made from direct observation (drawn or painted from life, not copied from a photograph). The portfolio may be in any medium. Experience with machine sewing is required. Evidence of some experience with multiple media is preferred (such as fiber, sculpture, clay, etc.).

NOTE: No portfolio is required for the Visual Arts Summer Program for Grades 6-8.

Admission Deadlines and Dates

Pre-Assessment Deadline: Dec. 1

If you submit your application by the pre-assessment deadline, your application will be reviewed by the Office of Admission to ensure your materials are complete and meet all requirements prior to its priority review after the Jan. 15 deadline. Please note this is not an artistic review of your audition or portfolio materials.

Priority Application Deadline: Jan. 15

(Decisions Sent: March 1)

Rolling Decision Deadline: Ongoing

Students applying for programs that require an audition or portfolio after Jan. 15 will be admitted on a rolling basis as space allows.
