About Sav

Sav Smith is a seasoned videographer and educator. While receiving their master’s degree at The New School in Manhattan, they worked as a student assistant to the director of the Media Management program, and as a teaching artist at Brooklyn based non-profit Reelworks. At Reelworks Sav led and designed courses for middle school age students in videography, LGBTQ+ representation in media, and screenwriting. 

Sav’s most recent short film Lost in Transition was featured at the Trans Stellar Film Festival in Detroit. His previous short film Don’t Touch Me was shown at The Grand Rapids Feminist Film Festival, Fringe! Queer Arts Festival in London, and received the Jury Award at the Trans Stellar Film Festival. 

Since graduate school, Sav has done freelance videography and video editing work for Media x Women, Inverve Marketing, and Central Michigan University. He is now a full-time video editor with Interlochen Online.
