About Mike

Michael Rossi has been a full-time studio artist as the principal of Rossi Metal Design, based in Philadelphia from 2010-2024, and recently relocated to Benzonia, MI. His studio practice includes multi-media sculpture, furniture, and unique architectural works. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including the Houston Center for Craft, the Richard and Dolly Maas Gallery in Purchase, NY, and the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis. Rossi has taught at Ox-Bow School of Art, Bryn Athyn College, Kalamazoo College, Penland School of Craft, and Haystack Mountain School of Craft among others. He has been a Windgate Artist-in-Residence at both San Diego State University and SUNY-Purchase. He maintains an extensive personal library, which weighs upwards of 2500 lbs. He is excited to join the Interlochen community, and looks forward to working with the students here.

I encourage students to insistently follow their curiosity in order to develop their artistic voice and point of view, within a humane atmosphere of mutual respect.
