About Menghua
Pianist Menghua Lin began her studies at age four and has since received numerous awards, including prizes from the Pittsburgh Concert Society, the Steinway Society of Western Pennsylvania, the Chautauqua Music Festival Concerto Competition, and the Yamaha Piano Competition. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Music degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Performance Diploma from Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Ian Hobson, Nina Svetlanova, and Hanna Wu Li.
Lin has performed throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States, appearing at festivals including the Suolahti Music Festival and the Amalfi Music and Art Festival. A founding member of the Shoreline Piano Trio, she maintains an active career as both a soloist and collaborative pianist, with engagements ranging from orchestral projects to international chamber music performances.
She currently serves on the faculties of Santa Clara University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Division, and is Vice President of the Fortnightly Music Club. Recent highlights include her solo recital debut at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, performances at Taipei’s National Concert Hall, a recording session at Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), and masterclasses at universities and conservatories in the United States and Portugal.
