About Lori

An Interlochen Arts Camp alumna, Lori Pearlstein hails from Canada and has worn many hats (it’s cold up there). Lori has worked professionally as an actor, stand-up comedian, improviser, voiceover artist, and casting director. She traded maple syrup for the concrete jungle of New York City to hone her craft under the watchful eyes of legends like Uta Hagen, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Austin Pendleton. After soaking up the wisdom of the Big Apple, she packed her bags (and her comedy chops) and headed back to Toronto.

Lori began sharing her newfound insights about script analysis, audition techniques, and improv with fellow actors. She loves teaching, which prompted her to confront a pivotal decision: whether to fully embrace her passion for teaching the craft of acting or continue pursuing her path as an actor. Cue the birth of Playworks—a concoction of passion, creativity, and formal education. While she continues her work with actors, she also coaches CEOs, business execs, and entrepreneurs to improve their communication skills and confidence.

With a knack for turning obstacles into opportunities, Lori champions the art of improvisation. She's on a mission to make discomfort comfortable, turn fear of judgment into a standing ovation, and transform challenges into success.
