About Liber

Liber Cuervos is a highly respected music educator, conductor, violinist, and arts administrator. He is passionate about using orchestral music to promote equity, diversity, inclusion, excellence, and social transformation, particularly in underserved communities. A former member of El Sistema Venezuela, Cuervos has enjoyed a distinguished career as a violinist with the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra, performing extensively worldwide. Additionally, he has served as the conductor of Venezuela’s Emil Friedman Youth Orchestra. He has led youth and professional orchestras such as the Carabobo Symphonic Orchestra, Venezuela Symphony Orchestra, and Bolivar Youth Symphony.

In addition to his exceptional musical achievements, Liber Cuervos has been a skilled arts administrator for the past decade, working with various nonprofit organizations dedicated to social transformation through music in Caracas, Venezuela, and later in Miami, Florida. He has collaborated with music nonprofits such as the Homestead Music Project, American Children’s Orchestras for Peace, and the Miami Music Project, where he serves as the Director of Education and Programs. He oversees seven chapters and more than 70 teaching artists in this role. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of El Sistema USA (ESUSA) and has been invited to speak at the ESUSA National Symposium as a lecturer.

Since 2018, Cuervos has been a valued faculty member at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Camp, where he conducts the Intermediate Concert Orchestra. He has also served as the Artistic Director of the String Scholar Camp at the Butler Community Arts School at Butler University. He was the conductor of the Sinfonia Orchestra of the Miami Music Project for 10 years. Apart from his music studies, he holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervising and Management from Miami Dade College and a Master of Science in Performing Arts Leadership and Management from Shenandoah University.

I use music as a tool for social transformation.
