About Katherine

Katherine Jordan was appointed Second Horn with the New Jersey Symphony for the 2025-26 season. She is also a member of the Boston Ballet Orchestra and previously held the second horn chair with the Sarasota Orchestra. An in-demand performer, Jordan appears regularly with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and has performed with Orchestra of St. Luke’s, New York City Ballet, The Florida Orchestra, the North Carolina Symphony, and the Naples Philharmonic.

Her career has taken her across the globe, with international performances throughout Europe and East Asia. Highlights include tours with Curtis on Tour, the New York Symphonic Ensemble, the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra, and, most recently, summer tours with the Met Orchestra in 2023 and 2024.

A passionate chamber musician, Jordan is a founding member of the Gotham Wind Quintet and has collaborated with cutting-edge groups such as NYC’s Talea Ensemble and Alarm Will Sound.

During our short intensive at Interlochen, I help students improve their ear training skills, develop more detailed practice goals, and explore mental strategies for performance.
