About John

John Mauk’s stories have appeared in Arts and Letters, Salamander Magazine, New Millennium Writings, The Dunes Review, and Bull. He has contributed articles to Writer’s Digest, Beatrice.com, Three Guys One Book, The Portland Book Review, and Rumpus. His first chapbook was published by Michigan Writer’s Cooperative Press, and his first full-length collection, Field Notes for the Earthbound, was published by Black Lawrence Press. In his academic career, he developed three writing textbooks for Cengage Learning and a nonfiction anthology for Oxford University Press. He taught writing at Northwestern Michigan College and Miami University. After twenty-four years of teaching, he now writes nonstop at his home in Lake Ann, Michigan.
