John Aley has performed extensively throughout the U. S. and internationally. He is Principal trumpet with the Madison Symphony. Performed with Buffalo Philharmonic, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Wichita, Stamford, Greenwich Symphonies, and New York ensembles such as the American Symphony and Brooklyn Philharmonic. Worked with luminaries Leonard Bernstein and Aaron Copland. Former member of the American Brass Quintet. Soloist with the English Chamber Orchestra and Vienna Chamber Orchestra with Maurice Andre. Recordings include the ABQ, PDQ Bach, Wisconsin Brass Quintet, and solo CD Autumn. Performed in Cuba for the 500th Anniversary of Santiago, in Mexico City and Toluca. Artist/faculty with the Aspen Music Festival and Yale Summer Music. Performer, clinician, and adjudicator for the International Trumpet Guild and National Trumpet Competition. Faculty at UW Madison School of Music, Brooklyn College, Wichita State, and Western Connecticut State College. Valade Fellow at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and Interlochen Trumpet Institute faculty.
