Jeffrey T. Morgan
About Jeffrey
Jeffrey T. Morgan currently serves as Adjunct Instructor of Film & New Media at Interlochen Arts Academy, where he teaches a lighting-focused cinematography course emphasizing storytelling, professional set readiness, teamwork and a strong culture of safety. There is a legend saying extra credit awaits those bold enough to submit cyberpunk or film noir lighting submissions.
Outside of Interlochen, Morgan built an extensive career as an award-winning director, cinematographer, writer, and editor.
When not toiling away at night to develop feature films, he can be found deep in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign or hunting down rare vintage camera lenses. He also teaches Filipino martial arts, carrying forward the Kuntaw tradition as one of the few active instructors preserving its legacy in the United States.
With more than 25 years of professional experience in production and post-production, Morgan has built an award-winning career as a producer, director, cinematographer, writer, and editor. In addition to numerous feature films, his work spans commercial campaigns for corporate clients—including Microsoft, Amazon, BetMGM, and Lowes—along with music videos, short films, and deeply emotional documentaries.
A graduate with a B.F.A. in Digital Cinema and Electronic Imaging, Morgan’s teaching philosophy is rooted in collaboration, multimodal learning, and creative empowerment—encouraging students to see lighting not only as a storytelling tool but as a rich career path.
I want my students to feel safe taking creative risks, knowing they can master the tools and stay professional on set. I teach through multiple modes—hands-on, visual, and reflective—so every student finds their own way into the language of storytelling.
