James Adele Baxter


About James
James Adele Baxter (they/them) uses natural and recycled materials, personal ephemera, and everyday objects to explore concepts related to grief, impermanence, and the passage of time. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Fiber at Cranbrook Academy of Art, where they will be graduating in 2026. In 2025, they received the Beau Materials grant, and continued to exhibit their work in both Michigan and Arizona. Prior to graduate school, Baxter ran a community ceramics studio in Arizona, where they developed and taught classes to students of all ages.
