About Indigo
Indigo Fischer (IAC 12, IAA 13-15) joined the Music Academy of the West in 2021 as Artistic Operations Coordinator, swiftly advancing through the roles of Artistic Operations Manager and Artistic Administrator to her current position as Vice President of Artistic Planning, where she guides the artistic programming of its acclaimed Summer Festival & School along with year-round engagement. Before joining the Academy full-time, she held seasonal roles as an artist liaison at both the National Repertory Orchestra and the Music Academy of the West.
An award-winning flutist and former Associate Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance and a micro-credential in Arts Administration from the University of Colorado Boulder. An alumna of Interlochen Arts Academy, Indigo received her Master of Music from The University of Texas at Austin, where she was a graduate teaching assistant and one of only three university-wide recipients of the 2021 Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award.
