About Gillian

Gillian Alexandra Harwin is a multi-instrumentalist, educator, and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in music performance, songwriting, production, and education. She holds a master’s degree in Contemporary Performance and Production from Berklee College of Music’s Valencia campus and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

As the founder of Ears to Music Education, Harwin has built a successful music school serving hundreds of students of all ages and levels all over the world. She designed innovative courses blending music history, culture, and self-awareness, focusing on helping students develop creative confidence and industry-ready skills.

Harwin has taught at prominent organizations like Living Jazz and the Victor Wooten Center for Music and Nature, leading classes on improvisation, theory, songwriting, and stage presence. As a songwriter and producer, she has created and recorded hundreds of songs and as a performer earned the recognition as a winner at the historic Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night.

If I Could Sing Like You, produced by the great Patrice Rushen. Fluent in English and Spanish, and conversant in Portuguese and French, she draws on her global experiences to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.

At Interlochen, Harwin will teach music, music production, and engineering, fostering a collaborative environment where students can develop their artistry, technical skills, and professional potential as innovators in the music industry.
