About Dan
Dan Kohler is a veteran STEM teacher with over 30 years experience in both public and private secondary education. He is recognized as the first teacher in the state of Michigan to achieve National Board Certification in Chemistry Education, Adolescence, and Young Adulthood. Kohler was invited to work with other award winning educators to develop model instructional units in secondary science for the State of Michigan. He has worked as a mentor through Michigan State University's Science Education Program as well as Michigan States LATTICE programs that links veteran educators with doctoral education candidates from around the world. Kohler has also worked with the Multiracial Unity Project partnering public schools with Michigan State University.
I help guide my students to develop a strong understanding of the foundational principles of a subject so that they can then apply these big ideas to different situations.
