About André

André Peele is a bass-baritone from North Carolina with performance credits spanning opera and musical theatre companies across the United States, including Piedmont Opera, Opera Wyoming, Pittsburgh Festival Opera, Peach State Opera, Virginia Opera, the Jackson Symphony, and The Princeton Festival. In addition to performing, he has served as Music Director for productions such as Songs for a New World and Junie B. Jones: The Musical.

Peele is also an active presenter and scholar, having recently delivered conference presentations in collaboration with Lincoln Center and the Eastman School of Music. As a creator, he produces an ongoing lecture series on Instagram (@Opera_Ed), where he translates research from learning science and educational psychology into practical strategies for collegiate voice teachers and singers.

Beyond the stage and classroom, Peele is also an accomplished stage photographer.

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that we are all both learners and teachers, and that education should be learner-centered, affirming, and rooted in self-regulation and growth. Above all, I view teaching as a lifelong, evolving practice that empowers students to take ownership of their learning and thrive both artistically and professionally.
