Band Summer Program for Grades 3-6

Why Take Band

Whether you love the clarinet's resonant sound or the triangle’s silvery chime, you’ll find the perfect place to learn and grow as a musician at Interlochen Arts Camp. Embrace your potential in wind, brass, or percussion with focused study in your area of interest. In this program, you'll challenge and develop yourself with the support of expert faculty and like-minded young musicians.

Bring your instrument and your sense of adventure to Interlochen Arts Camp! Junior Band is designed for students in grades 3–6 who have at least six months of experience on their instrument and can read music.

At Junior Band, you’ll make music every day with new friends, learn from inspiring teachers, and grow as a musician in a fun and supportive environment. Whether you’ve been playing for six months or several years, you’ll be challenged, encouraged, and celebrated every step of the way as you strengthen your ensemble skills and develop your individual musicianship.

When you’re not making music, you’ll experience all the fun of camp life—exploring Interlochen’s beautiful campus, enjoying exciting activities and traditions, and creating memories you’ll never forget. Junior Band is more than a music program—it’s an unforgettable summer adventure.

This program does not require an audition and enrolls on a first-come, first-serve basis. Prospective students must have six months of experience on their instrument and be able to read music. We encourage you to apply as early as possible.
