In Memoriam: March/April 2021

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Byron W. Hanson (IAC/NMC 58-59, IAC Fac 66-67, 73, 84, IAA Fac 65-94, 01-07, ICA St 94-00, 07-08, 09-15), who passed away on March 19 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. During his 50-year tenure at Interlochen, Hanson served in several capacities, including accompanist, conductor, director of music, and archivist. He was a dear colleague and mentor to many students, faculty, and staff. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughters Meredith and Lindsay, sister Eileen, niece Dana, sister-in-law Kathie, and many extended family and friends.
