Construction notice: J. Maddy Parkway Closure Begins Aug. 6
From Aug. 6-31, a section of J. Maddy Parkway (formerly M-137) between Lyon Street and the entrance to Interlochen State Park will be closed.
Interlochen Center for the Arts is constructing a pedestrian tunnel under J. Maddy Parkway to provide a safe, permanent, and ADA-compliant connection between the Green Lake and Duck Lake sides of campus.
Attending a concert?
Concerts will continue as scheduled during construction. We strongly encourage guests to arrive early and allow extra time for parking and entry, especially if you're traveling from the north. Construction-related traffic changes may cause minor delays.
What to Expect
- J. Maddy Parkway will be closed between the two campus entrances.
- Traffic from the south can enter campus as usual through the Main Entrance.
- Traffic from the north will be rerouted to enter via Lyon Street. A temporary campus safety and welcome center will be positioned at this entrance to help direct visitors.
- The road is expected to reopen by Aug. 31, with the full project completed by October.
