Why Attend Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop
The 2021 Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop features an accomplished faculty to help energize your playing skills. Learn from Matthew Schroeder, Tom Clippert and Fingerstyle Guitar guest artist Pat Donohue.
The Interlochen Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop, led by guitarist and instructor Matthew Schroeder, features an accomplished faculty who will work to energize you and help you grow your playing skills. In this 4-day program, you will work closely with Interlochen faculty members Matthew Schroeder, Tom Clippert and renowned guest artist Pat Donohue. Participants will attend workshops covering the spectrum of fingerstyle guitar. Topics include arranging, composing, theory and technique, as well as performance tips and ways to stay inspired. You will experience intimate evening concerts featuring our guest artists. Participants should have at least one year of serious study on the guitar, should know how to read either tablature or standard notation and should possess a basic understanding of chord structure and alternate tunings. Students must supply their own instrument.

Registration Fee: $550
K-12 Educators: Earn 16 State of Michigan SCECH clock hours by attending the Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop.

Attendees must supply their own acoustic guitar with a protective case or gig bag. A steel-string acoustic guitar is preferred but a nylon string “classical” guitar will also work. Attendees should also have a capo, clip-on tuner and an extra set of strings.

Pencils, a notebook for notes and a folder for handouts.
