About Carolyn

Carolyn Felix Purcell returned to Interlochen in 2018, working in the Office of Engagement before moving to her current role in 2026. A 1986 graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, Carolyn knows first-hand the power of philanthropy at Interlochen. She now looks forward to connecting donors with the mission and vision of Interlochen to make a difference in the lives of students and the world around them.

Before returning to Interlochen, Carolyn lived in Washington, D.C., where she worked in development and patron services for the Choral Arts Society of Washington and the Washington Bach Consort. She has also used her Arts Academy creative writing education as a textbook editor, corporate communications specialist, and college English instructor. Carolyn is the proud parent of a recent Arts Academy music composition graduate who is currently studying sound engineering at the University of Michigan.
