About Carolyn

Carolyn Felix Purcell returned to Interlochen to join the Office of Engagement staff in 2018. A 1986 graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy, she values the alumni experience and enjoys creating programs that inspire alumni to greater connection. Over the past two decades, she has worked with Interlochen alumni in multiple capacities and has met hundreds of alumni on campus and across the country. She is also the proud parent of a recent music composition graduate at the Arts Academy.

Before returning to Interlochen, Purcell lived in Washington, D.C., where she worked in development and patron services for the Choral Arts Society of Washington and the Washington Bach Consort. She has also used her Arts Academy creative writing education as a textbook editor, corporate communications specialist, and college English instructor.
