Ukulele Workshops

Spend a half day or the whole day building your ukulele skills with instructor Ben Hassenger. Choose a morning or afternoon session, or sign up for both and save with the full-day package. Loaner instruments are available.

Ukulele Basics:
The morning session will start with the fundamentals: learn the parts of the ukulele, how to tune it, beginning chords, and simple songs. Then discover how four fantastic chords can unlock a surprising number of songs and how to easily transpose them into different keys.

Improving Your Technique:
In the afternoon, take your playing further with a variety of strumming styles, including folk, calypso, rock, polka, ska, reggae, and the incredibly versatile “Benstrum.” Using some of your favorite songs, you'll explore ways to add variety and personality to your playing.
You'll then put it all together in a special multi-part ensemble piece featuring different chords, strums, and melody playing. This workshop is especially useful for players who want to expand their technique and learn how to stand out when playing with others.
