Why Attend Acoustic Guitar Retreat


Develop your guitar skills with the 2024 Acoustic Guitar Retreat, featuring an accomplished faculty including Matthew Schroeder, Tom Clippert, and acoustic and fingerstyle guitar guest artists Vicki Genfan and Tim Sparks.  

In this five-day program, participants will attend workshops covering the spectrum of acoustic and fingerstyle guitar. Topics include arranging, composing, theory and technique, as well as performance tips and ways to stay inspired. You will experience intimate evening concerts featuring our faculty and guest artists . Participants should have at least one year of study on the guitar, and be familiar with either tablature or standard notation, and possess a basic understanding of chord structure. Students must supply their own instrument.

Required Supplies: 
Attendees must supply their own acoustic guitar with a protective case or gig bag. A steel-string acoustic guitar is preferred but a nylon string “classical” guitar will also work. Attendees should also have a capo, clip-on chromatic tuner, and an extra set of strings.  

Additional Optional Supplies:
Guitar stand, pencils, a notebook for notes and a folder for handouts.
