Arts Camp Summer 2022 COVID-19 Update
Interlochen Arts Camp will resume our normal camp operations at full capacity in Summer 2022. We will continue to follow health and safety recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and implement policies that prioritize the health and safety of our community.
For Arts Camp 2022, masking is optional for all students, and anyone visiting our campus.
To keep our community safe, we are implementing an immunization requirement for Arts Camp 2022. All students, faculty, and staff at Interlochen Arts Camp must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Community members are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after completing a COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Specifically, two weeks after receiving the second of two Pfizer or Moderna doses, or two weeks after receiving the single Johnson & Johnson dose. Booster shots to stay “up to date” are highly recommended.
Acceptable vaccines include any approved by the WHO or U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), including Pfizer (for all students) and Moderna or Johnson & Johnson (for those 18 and over). Students must be fully vaccinated to attend Camp, ensuring they have completed their vaccine regimen at least two weeks prior to their arrival on campus. Proof of vaccination will be required. Should the CDC change the definition of “fully vaccinated,” i.e. to include booster shots or additional protocols, those will be required as well.
Parents of students who wish to submit a medical or religious waiver for the COVID-19 vaccine may do so. Waiver forms are available in the Education Community after enrollment. In the event of an outbreak of any communicable disease prevented by immunizations, unvaccinated students may be restricted from attending classes and participating in activities to avoid potential exposure. If any students test positive for COVID-19 while at Camp, they will be isolated and the family will be contacted immediately.
We are confident in resuming most of our normal on-campus activities this summer with this vaccine requirement for students, faculty, and staff in place.
