Christopher Rountree conducting the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra at David Geffin Hall in New York City on June 5, 2016. Muhly’s piece included a performance by the Interlochen Arts Academy Dance Company, showcasing original choreography by Christopher Williams.
We are thrilled to share that this Monday’s episode of Performance Today features a performance by the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra.
During the 11 a.m. hour, tune in to Classical IPR to hear the 2015-16 Arts Academy Orchestra perform Nico Muhly’s “So Far So Good,” recorded live from David Geffen Hall in Lincoln Center as part of the 2016 NY Phil Biennial.
American Public Media’s Performance Today is the country’s most popular classical music radio program, which airs live concert recordings that cannot be found elsewhere. With Performance Today’s featured artists ranging from internationally acclaimed orchestras to groups from top music colleges and conservatories, it is uncommon to hear a high school-level ensemble on their program—making this episode even more exciting.
The 10 a.m. hour of the program will also feature a performance recorded live at Interlochen Center for the Arts by the Danish String Quartet in the summer of 2017.
If you miss the performance you can find the episode on demand on the Performance Today page.
We invite you to tune in and support this future generation of Interlochen alumni!
