About Karen

Karen Leland Libby is currently Instructor of Shakespeare; Middle Eastern Literature; English III: Articulating an Argument, and Contemporary British Literature; Indiana University's L-202 Literary Interpretation; and Director of the Interlochen Arts Academy Writing Center. An International Baccalaureate Educator, Leland Libby is an instructor in the Global Certificate Program at Northwestern Michigan College and has been the summer Instructor of Academic Writing at TASIS-The American School in Switzerland since 2003. She was a 2020-2021 Fellow of the University of Michigan's MENA-SEA Teacher Program. During a 2017 sabbatical she studied art history in the Middle East and has completed professional development with The Folger Shakespeare Library and Shakespeare's Globe in London. Leland Libby came to Interlochen in 2006 from TASIS England, an American school near London. She minored in music at the University of Illinois.
