Arthur Bloom, an Interlochen Arts Camp alumnus, professional musician, and composer, launched MusiCorps after meeting a soldier and drummer who had lost his leg to an improvised explosive device. Years later the program has helped hundreds and is producing amazing music along the way.
Interlochen creative writing students earned 54 awards at the recent Midwest regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Three students received the prestigious "Gold Key" for their work and will move on to the national competition.
Ten years ago, Michael Arden had never met a deaf person. Today, he is directing a musical production of “Spring Awakening” that brings together deaf and hearing actors to create an entirely new form of artistic expression.
