Interlochen Alumni Receive Six Grammy Nominations

This December, six Interlochen alumni received Grammy nominations in six different award categories. The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 13, 2011 and will air on CBS. Since 1958, Interlochen alumni have earned 91 Grammy Awards and hundreds of nominations. Many more Grammys have been awarded to orchestras or ensembles in which alumni perform.

This year’s Interlochen alumni Grammy nominees include: 

Laurie Anderson (IAC 62-63, Violin) - Best Pop Instrumental Performance

Jessica Bodner (IAC 97-98, Viola) and the Parker Quartet - Best Chamber Music Performance

Jewel (IAA 90-92) - Best Female Country Vocal Performance

Norah Jones (IAC 94-95, Jazz Piano) - Best Female Pop Vocal Performance

Jessye Norman (UW 68, Voice) - Best Classical Crossover Album

Terrence Wilson (IAC 90, Piano) (with Giancarlo Guerrero, conducting the Nashville Symphony) - Best Instrumental Soloist Performance with Orchestra
